What Ayurveda says
In Sanskrit, the word Tulasi means “”incomparable””. This is due to its various wellness-promoting properties.
Tulsi is sometimes also called surasa (loved by the gods) and devadundubhi (having a divine vibration).
According to Ayurveda, Tulsi has a high sattva content and increases ojas and prana, two vital forces in the body.
Ayurveda says that Ojas promotes joy, vitality and a healthy immune system, while prana is described as the vital life force of the body that supports intelligence, communication and perception.
